Learning benefits
- 💡 This activity enhances fine motor skills through intricate threading and knot tying. Children develop problem-solving abilities as they balance elements for optimal sound, and experiment with different materials to achieve varying tones.
Safety notes
- ⚠️ Adult supervision is required for using the hot glue gun; children should not handle it. Be mindful of small beads and bells which can be choking hazards for very young children. Ensure all edges of tin cans are smooth and free of sharp spots before starting. Use non-toxic paints and ensure good ventilation.
Cleanup
- 🧹 Allow paint to dry completely on wind chimes before moving to avoid smudges. Dispose of any leftover paint, yarn scraps, and used disposable tablecloth. Wash paintbrushes thoroughly with soap and water and return other unused materials to storage.
