Learning benefits
- 💡 Stretching and placing the assorted rubber bands develops fine motor strength and coordination in the fingers and hands. Plucking the different bands and listening to the resulting pitches strengthens auditory processing skills and introduces the foundational physics concept of sound waves and vibration.
Safety notes
- ⚠️ Supervise children closely when they are stretching the assorted rubber bands to prevent them from snapping back and hitting their face or eyes. Handle the child-safe scissors with care, ensuring fingers are kept away from the blades during any cutting.
Cleanup
- 🧹 To clean up, remove the craft tape and slide all 8 assorted rubber bands off the empty rectangular tissue box. The box and paper towel tube can be placed in recycling, and the rubber bands can be stored in a small bag for future projects.
