Learning benefits
- 💡 Children develop fine motor skills through shaping the volcano and measuring ingredients. They learn about cause and effect during the eruption, fostering scientific curiosity. Imaginative storytelling is also encouraged as they interact with their magical creation.
Safety notes
- ⚠️ Adult supervision is required, especially when handling glitter and food coloring. Although ingredients are non-toxic, instruct children not to ingest any components. Avoid direct contact of the vinegar and baking soda mixture with eyes; if contact occurs, rinse immediately with water. Children should wear old clothes or an apron to protect from potential stains.
Cleanup
- 🧹 Carefully pour the volcanic residue down the drain with plenty of water. Rinse all bowls, spoons, and the baking dish thoroughly. Wipe down the work surface with a damp cloth to remove any remaining glitter and spills. Store unused crafting materials for future magic.
