Learning benefits
- 💡 Children will enhance their narrative skills by devising plotlines and character voices. They will also practice spatial reasoning and design thinking while building the stage and puppets. Furthermore, the collaborative aspect fosters communication and social skills.
Safety notes
- ⚠️ Adult supervision is required when using scissors and the craft knife to ensure safe cutting of cardboard and puppet details. Emphasize never pointing scissors or the craft knife at anyone. Be cautious with the hot glue gun; always keep fingers away from the nozzle and hot glue. Ensure the lamp is stable and its cord is not a tripping hazard.
Cleanup
- 🧹 Carefully peel any dried glue from the craft mat or newspaper and discard. Collect all paper scraps and cardboard trimmings and place them in the recycling bin. Put away unused craft supplies in their designated storage areas and turn off and unplug the lamp.
