- 💡 This game asks your child to hold a mission in mind, move their body with control, and shift plans when a new animal needs help. Pretend rescue builds empathy because your child practices noticing what a small creature might need and responding gently. The stop-and-go riding strengthens impulse control, while clue-based missions support working memory and flexible thinking. When you pause together for a 'rein check,' your child also practices co-regulation in a playful way.
Safety notes
- ⚠️ Use a lightweight broom or mop only, and avoid heavy wooden handles, loose metal pieces, or anything your child may swing like a sword. Keep the route to walking speed; no running, jumping off furniture, or riding near stairs, glass doors, sharp table corners, or pets. For 3-year-olds, keep the broom handle low and close to the body, and consider having them hold it at their side rather than between their legs if balance is tricky. Remove slippery rugs or socks if the floor is slick.
Cleanup
- 🧹 Invite your child to help 'close the stable' by returning stuffed animals to their usual spot and placing the laundry basket back where it belongs. Park the broom in its normal storage place together, saying, 'Cinnamon is resting now,' to make cleanup feel like part of the story.
